The two pieces on this album explore the effects of time distortion while in the state of deep listening. The title track, Never Falling Never Ascending, was written in spring of 2015 while studying ambisonic recording techniques. The piece was revised and performed live in 2016, utilizing 8 channel diffusion and chamber choir. The opening track, The Drifter Is The Wellspring, was written in the winter of 2017 for a performance at a DIY drone sleepover.

I was always intrigued by this group's choice of album covers, it isn't every day that you see high quality space photos in this genre despite the rise of "cosmic" black metal. But the music blew me away, this sounds like Austere took the atmospheric spacey route. (I will assume it's a coincidence that both bands are Australian) porcelainheart-
